Final Blog Post

Well first I would like to say that the Digital Media class was fun and interesting. I have learned how to complete over several different things. In the beginning of the semester, we were asked to take cell phone pictures of outside objects. I thought that assignment was fun and it allowed individuals to be unique and add their own features to the pictures. Another assignment I enjoyed were the logos and Animoto videos. All of the assignments allowed me to put together a successful website. 

My major is Public Relations (Communication) and I want to focus on public speaking, advertising and marketing. So therefore, I took the Digital Media course because I like to do projects that deal with the computer and the media. I think one day I could possibly be a website designer or maybe even give input for certain companies on some of their product designs. I like to use my creative imagination to make wild and spunky ideas! 

Overall I think I did pretty good in this course. I have met all of the deadlines. Although there was one time when I needed an extension because of some personal issues. But nonetheless, I still managed to complete majority of the assignments. Some of the assignments were a little challenging to me. For example, I had a really hard time completing the Mashup Video assignment. That one was a little hard. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this class and the professor is awesome. Although this was an online class, she seems as though she has a passion for teaching this course and she loves the students. 

The Digital Media class will help me in the future for anything that I plan to do. When I graduate college, I want to open up a clothing store, spa and hair salon. So all of the great tools that I have learned can help me in my business.    

Digital Media Class

I really enjoyed my digital media class it taught me a lot of things I didn't. I can say that this class has helped me so much for the goals that I want to accomplish in my life. I was excited about making a website. Also the slideshow about the pictures was interesting and fun. Some of the stuff was a challenge but I think I did okay for majority of the assignments being my first to complete. I would recommend this class for everyone who loves doing digital projects.

Summer School

Although I don't want to attend summer school, it is going to be necessary for me so that I can get a head start on some of my classes. This summer I will be taking summer school back in Maryland because the cos is much cheaper. Considering I am out of state the cost is at a higher rate. But it is okay I can't wait to go home! I will be graduating next year and I am trying my hardest to accomplish all of my goals. I will soon be a alumni for The University of Toledo. College goes by so fast. It seems like yesterday when I was just starting!

Summer Time

Yayyyyy!!! School is finally over and I am so excited. I have done so much work and put forth a lot of effort towards my school work. I hope that I receive all A's and B's because I have really done a lot. But anyway I will be attending summer school (online classes though). I am excited to go back home for the summer. I get to see my family and friends. I will be enjoying the summer until next semester. Have a great summer!

123D Catch-Re Do

So as I stated before, this project was a little difficult for me, but I gave it another try! I believe I did the assignment right this time. I'm still learning. But I think it is really cool how there is an software program that allows people to make images 3D. I learned a lot from this website. I wouldn't mind using it again, just with a little 1 on 1 help next time. As stated in my previous blog about my 3D pictures, my object is a XBox controller.And I chose to do this because it seemed like the best object around me.

Finals Week

Well this semester is coming to an end! THANK GOD! I know that everyone is happy that the semester is over because it has been such a stress. Some are seniors and some are not! But for the ones that are CONGRATULATIONS! I want to wish everyone a good luck for finals week. There are three weeks left for school. Everyone strive to do your best and push to the finish line! These next couple of weeks will consist of long nights full of studying and cramming! I know I know, I go through it every year, your not the only person. Remember to eat a good meal before taking test GOOD LUCK!

123D Catch!

Well first I would like to say that this assignment was really hard and I was working on this for hours and still didn't understand. But anyways this is for my Digital Media class, I had to turn regular photos into 3D photos. I wish I could've had hands on help because I would really like to know how to use this App program. I chose a Xbox controller as my object because it seemed the easiest and it was perfect for the assignment. I don't know if I did this assignment correct so please don't judge me!

Spring Is Here

Hey guys! I don't know about you all but I have been waiting for the Spring season for the longest. I am over the cold weather and snow, it is draining. My favorite season is Summer, but Spring is likable because it isn't freezing cold outside. Spring brings flowers and sunny days. Also to mention the days seem a little longer because it doesn't get dark outside as early. The semester is almost over! Thank God! I am ready for a vacation and a break from the books. Although it really doesn't matter in my case because I am taking summer school. But on the other hand, I hope everyone is beginning to enjoy the nice weather. And remember school is important and work hard, it's almost over!

Logo's

So for my Digital Media class we were asked to create our own logos. I based my two logos about my clog- School is for Winners. I believe that you can only win in this world if you attend school. So therefore in order to succeed and accomplish your goals, you must stay in school! So for my first logo, I choose to put a dollar sign, a pencil and notebook because all three items are what you need for life. A pencil or pen to write down notes in order to get money in the real world. My second logo represents people and doing their work in order to succeed. No matter how hard life may seem, I encourage everyone to push! For this assignment, we used a SVG-edit and it was my first time, but I enjoyed.

Flame

The following pictures depicts the emotion of love.  The use of color is shown with shades of blue, white, and a pink heart.  Its shows love because when most people look at a heart the first thing that might come to mind is meaning of love.  Many artist use soft and flirty colors, such as pink, purples, red, and white to represent the emotion of love. The shades blend with the blue in the background, the pink heart and the white surrounding with solid  lines and continued dots symbolize a continued commitment of love towards each other. I enjoyed using this program it was fun and creative!

Scribbler Too

For the first picture, I decided to upload a picture of a duck. I added volume and density to the picture by making it fuzzy. While using this program, I enjoyed how I could change the features and change the colors of the background. The second picture is a cupcake that is floating in space. I like the colors that I used. This program was a little more complicated that the first Scribbler. As you can see, I enjoyed using the fuzzy feature.

Scribbler

So first I would like to say that I enjoyed using this Scribbler Application. It was quite unique and fun at the same time. For both of my pictures I decided to get spontaneous and used a lot colors instead of the boring black and white. For one of my photos I drew a flower because I love flowers. For my other photo I drew some boxes and I made all of them connect some sort of way. I then changed the thickness of the lines. For my flower photo I basically used the size of the lines that was already set. I wouldn't mind using the Scribbler program again. It turns art to another level. It gives it a little POP!

Boring Monday's

So today is Monday March 11, 2013 and it is quite a drag. Since Spring Break just ended, which I enjoyed, it is now time to get back to reality. Reality means school and work. Right now I am currently at work and I am about to do some homework. That's pretty much what I do everyday, so its no biggie. I'm kind of used to the schedule I have. But anyways to start off my week I like to say a prayer so that I can get through the week on a positive note. This morning for breakfast I had a bagel with cream cheese (yummy) and a cup of orange juice. Now it is time for lunch, I think I will go to Chipotle. But anyways I am saying this to say that I hope everyone will have a productive week! TTYL! ;)

Rainy Days in Toledo

Hey guys! I hate the rain and snow in Toledo. It makes the day go by so slow. When it rains I want to just lay in the bed and watch movies all day. But hey there is nothing I can about the weather. I don't control Mother Nature. How do you all feel about the rainy and snowy days. Well......spring break starts next week and the weather doesn't seem like it will warm up. Remember guys stay positive, the semester is almost over!

School & The Approach of Spring Break

As you all know spring break is around the corner and everyone has to finish strong before the break. I encourage everyone to put in all the extra work in order to get those A's. Don't give up, you can do it. The semester is about half way done. It will be May before we all know it. I know sometimes school can be a drag and such a stress, but it will all be worth it at the end.

A Day Inside My Purse

Hello everyone! The presentation that you are viewing is a day inside my beautiful purse. Yes all of these 20 items are in my purse and I probably use them all more than once a day. I know you are probably saying she is weird and crazy. But no, I am not I just like to have everything I always need with me at all times. I think I did a great job for this assignment for my Digital Media class. I though this assignment was unique and interesting. It allow me to see how many different products I actually use daily. I didn't realize that I am such a Girly Girl. (LOL) But it is okay, I am cool with it.

Becher's Grid

I have never done a Becher's Grid , but I actually did enjoy doing one. It was different any not like any type of picture collage. I decided to do my grid on all of the Jordan tennis shoes that I have. Yes, I have a lot. I like to collect high heel shoes and tennis shoes. I guess you could say that I am a shoe-freak. This assignment was a little difficult, but I think I seemed to do an okay job. Everyone should get a chance to try and use this typologies. I enjoyed the part where I had to take the sixteen different pictures, but the pat where I had to c change the levels was kind of hard. I hope you enjoy my grid.

Urban Landsape Video

I have never made a video like this one before. I found it quite interesting to use because of the special effects that are added to the video at the end. I also like how I could incorporate music to make the video seem a little more realistic. The pictures that I chose seem to represent me in a sort of way. I picked all the pictures that I enjoy the most. I like being outdoors when the weather is nice to enjoy the scenery and how marvelous it can be. I like this assignment and I will love to do it again. The music choice I used was calm and relaxing for the type of pictures I used.

Urban Landscape Favorite Edited Picture

My name is Kacie Barnes and I this picture was edited on January 24, 2013. I am in a Digital Media Art class and the assignment was to upload one of you favorite pictures and describe in detail what I did to edit it. Well first off I used my iPhone 4s Camera, which takes awesome pics. The picture size was 2448 pixels in width and 3264 pixels in height (2448 x 3264). The resolution of the photo is 96 dpi. The bit depth is 24. My iPhone takes up to 8 megapixels for pictures, This picture was taken while I was in the car on my way to class. I thought it was quite interesting because I made the picture effects contrast black & white, and I also made one little, tiny section in color. I think that brings out the picture and makes it POP! The effect I gave the picture makes it stand out and seem interesting. The sharpness in the picture is very defined in the photo, I can see the trees, cars and cable lines far down in the picture. The filters and effects make the picture look like a famous photo that could be published.

School Meaning

School is very important because without school it becomes harder to become successful. An average person needs for than a high-school diploma in today's century. A college degree is starting to become mandatory for almost all different fields of work. I think it is imperative for everyone to succeed in education. My blog name is 'School is for Winners,' because you aren't winning if you don't attend school. You are considered losing. No matter how many times in life you fall, it is okay to get back up and keep grinding. So my motto is "Push yourself, no matter how hard you struggle."
